So I turn 32 next week. I am not one to get hung up on ages or birthdays. I barely paid attention when I turned 30. However as I climb into the 30s I realize that there are certain things you can do when you are young that get less and less cool as you age. I have known those people who are hanging onto their 20s trying to be some sort of older version of a college student and it is rather sad.
That being said, I have wanted my nose pierced since college and have never really known if I was the type of person to pull that off. What kind of person is that? I don’t know, but I have always felt that a good Christian, white, Midwestern mommy had no business thinking she was hip enough to attempt it. However as I gaze upon my 32nd birthday, I know this is my last chance. So Saturday, I am going with another 30 something mommy and we are getting pierced.
My hubby and mom are in full support. My dad and mother-in-law are somewhere between horrified and mortified. I don’t even know what my father-in-law will think. One of my close friends thinks I am nuts, but desperately wants to come with. I think it is so she can point and laugh. My daughter however thinks it is cool and told me I will look beautiful. After that does anyone else’s opinion matter? (Yours might, so post a comment telling me if you think I am crazy)

I think we will be some milfs! I am so excited. We are coming into our own as we age and it’s awesome.
I think the nose ring looks cute. I would never do it, but kudos to you for making a go of it. As someone that long since passed 32 (I’ll be 39 next week!). I understand a mid-life crisis. I think if it makes you happy, doesn’t dishonor the Lord and your family supports it than go for it. Can you tell I’m working on my speech for when I ask for a boob job for my 40th birthday???
