skiing.gif Went skiing with the hubby today. I heart skiing. I used to go a lot when I was growing up, but I realized today it had been 8 years since I skied. We hit the slops around 11 am and by 3:30 pm I felt like I finally got my ski legs back and was in my groove. Unfortunately our lift ticket only went until 4:30, but a good time was had by all.

Now I am home and it is 9:30 and I am exhausted and going to sleep. My whole body hurts. What has happened to me that my body is worn out after a half day of skiing? And what is up with the 6 year olds whizzing past me on the black diamonds? Oh, when did I get so freakin’ old??

And while I am on that note, I went to a hockey game last night with the hubby (cause I am just that good of a wife that I spend our valentine’s day date at a hockey game) and I noticed that they must have lowered the drinking age to 12. At least that what it seems like since the row of children in front of me could not have been more than 12 and were purchasing beer. I was not fooled by their university sweatshirts. Seeing as I am a mere few years out of college myself, I would recognize a college student if I saw one and these kids were just babies. Please tell me you have noticed the same thing…

I have totally noticed that…Teenagers are also getting a lot younger these days…geez.

And I’m always sore Monday mornings after doing music for kids on Sunday…tomorrow is going to be super rough after being out of it for so long!

Yes!! And the kids they let get married these days… Never fear, you are not the only one that is sore after a short stint of vigorous excersice. But even worse is the funny/dorky/whatis wrongwithyou looks my 6 mo. old gives me when i start excercising. agh.

I think that this is what happens when we get older. I was sitting in snowy traffic last week disgusted by the teenage driver’s passengers throwing snow balls at cars waiting to move in the snowy traffic. I was that person once, sad to say, how is it that 16 years later I dispise it? I so dislike being old.

Eh-heh. Our bodies DO get old. David and I hit the slopes a few years ago in Colorado, and I hadn’t skiied in years (but, like you, I grew up skiing) – I could hardly move for about a week.

I should point out that most people THINK I’m about 12 (though I’m 28), so I have no comment about people looking young…

Yes, I was at a Junior High basketball game and I thought that the kid directing the band was sure doing a great job for being a middle school student. Only then did I notice the glint of gold on his ring finger! YIKES! I felt very old.
